Susie Bear has learned to dance, but her feet hurt because bear paws are not made for twirling. Addie and her friend, Lori, get Addie’s grandpa to make her something that will help. Susie Bear has never had a present before and is so happy to get a very special surprise.
Susie Bear lives behind Addie’s home in a nearby woods. She watches her and one day decides to follow her to school to see why she is so excited. Susie Bear finds out that Addie has learned some new dance steps. Of course, a bear at school doesn’t work out well and when Susie’s mother shows up there is trouble. Fortunately, Addie is all for a friendship with Susie. Susie learns to dance and the journey of learning and growing up together begins.
Susie Bear has become such a good dancer; she has a solo dance in the show. A few weeks before the dance school recital, they go to “The Nutcracker”. But because Susie is a bear, she is not allowed to go. That does not stop Susie Bear and her friends. They find a way for her to go. Susie Bear becomes a star.
